BULLIES SUCK. YOU RULE YOUR OWN LIFE.

I've recently looked in and back on bullying. I guess that this year, it's become a huge deal. I was bullied, still am and probably always will be. Sometimes, it for being smarter than someone... but truthfully, that doesn't happen in many cases. Sometimes it for my height, I'm pretty short. Usually it's because I'm not one of who I like to call "The Prissies". To me, they're those mean group of girls over their who comment negatively, start rumors and give you a hard time. Yeah, I know lots of those. Most of them used to be friends. But when I ignored all those signs and sites about standing up to them, telling (it's not tattletaling)  I had probably the hardest time I've ever had in school, and socially in general. I felt dumb, used and betrayed. So people, (mostly girls) STAND UP TO THOSE PRISSIES, TATTLETALES AND IDIOTS...

They are not the leader of your life. You are. They don't choose what the hell you wear, say or do. YOU DO. And you should.

<3 Martine.

GRADUATE? ME? HECK YA!

I Just GRADUATED!

Graduation! When they called me, I stood up to get my diploma! Went out to do a final countdown with my friends! Awesome memory to have! Took many pictures and congratulated everyone! (Even enemies) I can't believe it ALL OVER! It all payed off! All that hard work of studying and writing papers and straining over math problems... did I ever mention that it's all OVER? Don't believe I did!

Next year here I come!

This was what I wore:

It looks really small but in reality, is a decent length. LOVE IT! Comment and tell me the ups and downs about it.  -------------->

BEACH

Miss me? OK, fine! Be that way! I'll just have to show you how much fun I had:

Those were taken near "Crabby Bill's", tee hee..... Crabby Bills.

I took more but can't seem to find them. I'll upload them later.

Anyway, I came back a while ago but had to catch up with everything so I was too busy to post. So, what did everyone do over vacation???... if you had vacation.

I did all of the following:

  • See my little cousins, V. and P.
  • Go to the beach every day
  • Go to shacks and places where you wear a shirt on top of you, not a bikini top
  • Swim, shuffle my feet
  • Float on rafts and get drifted 21 umbrella camps from mine
  • Get even more darn freckles
  • Get a tan, and a bug bite. (ONLY ONE! MY GOAL WAS MAXIMUM 1 BUG BITE DURING ENTIRE TRIP AND I FULFILLED IT! *itch* itch*)
  • Finish 2 Suduku's
  • Post at least sometimes
  • Swim in the lovebug controlled pool
  • Swim with P.  who loved to swim with me and 'beat me'. "I gonna beat you, I gonna beat you!" - P.
  • Find the two best ice cream places in the entire island: Super Scoops and one place thats shaped like an ice cream in a cup. (Their ice cream is so large and has such a wide range of flavors for soft serve it's the first must- go on my list)
  • Eat seafood everyday for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was naan

Grammy F. 1000 Heaven St. apt ∞, FL

Dear beloved Grammy,

I love you, and always will. The house is so quiet and sad without you and Granddad. I hope you're looking down at me and E. J. from up there in Harley Heaven. We've seen many of your collections in the past two days. I cannot believe how many pictures are stored up from the past! The ones of dad are really funny. Seeing all the people in 60's fashion makes me laugh out loud. And the way people used to wear their pants? Highwater, that's funny now but normal then...
Anyway, I miss you and when we got together to celebrate the great and long life you had, I didn't know anyone but if it was in honor of you, I'm fine with it. Tell Granddad to write to me that would be amazing. I saw pictures of you and him from when you were little! You all still look the same to me. But the resemblance between the young Russell and E. J. is incredible. Same shape of face and even expression.
Well, I'm guessing you're really busy. Up with your head in the clouds. Remember, I'll always love you!

Sincerely,

Martine

Im still in Florida. I went to the beach and found this sea glass:

Green, white and brown. I'm pretty sure that the brown one is from an old beer bottle, the white one is unknown and the green one is from like, a soda can or something.
Whenever I look at them, I always think "Martine, you've just found ancient glass. Sitting there right in your hand." But then realize, the world is so polluted that there are probably millions of ancient sea glass pieces because some people just smash their bottles and let it float out to sea for some random girl to find it (which BTW is me) and put it on her blog...
*Only a psychic person can do that, but I can dream. *

Ha

This I found on Youtube, in which I automatically posted. Beck Bennett as a host in a Youtube T.V joke. This is pretty funny because I believe that a 10 yr old, 7 yr old and an 8 yr old would really probably act like this. Please share this video, because it's awesome.

Girl In the Arena

I'm reading this really good new book called: Girl in the Arena by Lise Haines. It's all about a gladiator. A teenage girl named Lyn, daughter of seven Glads. Her mother marries an all famous Glad, they divorce, Lyn becomes popular and popular each time. Her only true father is the man who started her fame who is known as Tommy, the best of them all. When a new and young Gladiator slays him, the public tries to think up the unthinkable sentance, Lyn must marry her father's murderer. Lyn is prepared to do whatever it takes to gain her independence, even if it means fighting to the death.
I tweaked the blurb a bit so I'd make more sense....

IM A WOOZY PERSON

Sorry, I feel really woozy and loose because I just got back from swimming at the YMCA. This is one unfair historical fact about the Y:

Young

Mans

Christan

Association

So not fair. You shouldn't have to be a male and Christan. That's probably why they shortened it to "The Y" .

ANYWHO,

I drove to The Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn last weekend. It was fun, until my new vintage camera ran out of film. So I used an iPhone to take this picture of a flower. Not my favorite but at least pretty enough. Here it is:

I used an app called "CameraBag" which can effect a regular photo to make it look old. It has other effects too like magazine, sepia and black and white. I wouldn't buy it if I were you. It's not as great as I might describe it as.  A pretty crappy app really.

Can you believe technology?

Sorry, been out again. But anyway,

Last night, I went out to see the sunset on my scooter with Athena. We went to the Hudson River park. It was pretty, of course, crowded. A posse of teenagers singing the Barbie theme song. Tourists. Joggers blocking the road so I CANNOT SIMPLY RIDE. Oh, I finished another book in two nights. So glad that these are coming from the library! Or else I'd be broke.

Anyway, I got a lot of comments (well, two is like a tital wave for me) so thanks people!

Also, I'd like to introduce you to:

My favorite vintage commercials!

Best Commercial Ever

Oh yeah.

Loaded with so many calories and sugar it's guaranteed to rock your hyper activeness.

Oh yeah

Socially barking

Sharpie currently at 4:34 P.M
Lazing.
She was pretty slow this morning. Peed one drop and romped back into the apartment. I've always wondered about a dog's life. Their a lower life form. I know they have emotions, 5 senses and social lives... but how close are they to ours? How do they think?

I guess they have social lives. Like say, an kid brought their dog to a friends house and that friend owned a dog. Then the kid's dog would cross the others territory. That would kinda relate to a fight between to people over land, objects or anything else really. Social fights. Right? We have friends, they have friends. (Well they have to at least like each other if they're breeding)

Am I crazy or right? Dog's have social lives!

Ice cream Sandwich

photo.JPG

This is a picture of my ice cream sandwich. This weekend I made cookies at my country house and brought a whole bag full back to the city. I watched an episode of Fringe (I popped in and out of watching that, i get updated on the latest crisis's by my friend who watches every episode) and decided to treat myself with ice cream and cookie! then... I'M A GENIUS! So yep, I made a homemade ice cream sandwich.

My recipe ( Half mine, half chocolate-chip bag cookie recipe):

3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of packed brown sugar
2 sticks of butter, make sure there softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (they wanted me to put in two and when I did, I decided that 1 would be enough but of course they wanted us to run out of them and but more.)

Thakoon

I went to a Thakoon fashion show Sunday night. It was at the Plaza Hotel in which I thought was amazing. Produced by Dizon Inc. clothes by obviously, Thakoon. But anyway, I was seated at a balcony where there was a perfect view of the audience, photographers and models. Here are some pictures:

Some of them are blurry but look, it's life. I took it with an iphone and they're moving models so deal with it.

I went back stage so I got a picture of the boards with the pre-photos of them.
The other thing that was exciting is that Tavi Gevinson(15 year old fashion blogger of The Style Rookie) who is one of my favorite bloggers came to the show and she looked all vintage. So cool.
